ACCESSORY BUST

PRODUCT DESIGN

INDIVIDUAL PROJECT
FEBRUARY - APRIL 2021

PROJECT OVERVIEW
The prompt for this project was to create a home accessory using metal as the primary material.

Our challenge was to create a marketable piece with feasible production cost and value.

Furthermore, this project was completed during university shut down from COVID-19, limiting our access to the furniture workshop or technicians.
DESIGN PROCESS
I chose to use my limited resources to sculpt a wire frame jewelry bust. The product would act not only as home decor, but also a functional method of displaying jewelry.

This would require a supply of malleable copper wiring that could be bonded using a hand held torch. The final bust would be painted gold and mounted upon a wooden block.
